Vice President Kamala Harris to deliver remarks in Raleigh

Kamala Harris, born in Oakland California, the former senator and the current Vice President will be delivering remarks in Raleigh NC. She can be expected to campaign next week with new running mate. Harris’ pick for vice president, Minnesota governor Tim Walz, plan to campaign all across the country. Raleigh, North Carolina is on top of their list.

This will be Harris’ first visit to the state since Joe Biden ended his campaign. Her campaign team is all set to turn the North Carolina blue. Since 1976 North Carolina has voted only for Republicans, with the exception of President Barack Obama in 2008. This will be Harris’ eight visit since Biden’s campaign. Republicans have been making lesser appearances compared to Democrats.

This appearance comes in after Trump’s campaign at Asheville. His economic speech slowly turned into a personal attack on the Vice President . She is expected to cut expenses on health care and groceries. He called her tax reductions as “con job”. He also falsely claimed Kamala is a communist.“I think I’m entitled to personal attacks. I don’t have a lot of respect for her,” Trump was recorded saying

Trump also retorted, ““They want me to be nice. But they’re not being nice to me. They want to put me in prison,”however he did not announce any new policies. He made lofty claims however, claiming to reduce energy and electricity prices. Something which he admitted to he won’t be able to reach previously.

Harris has been the US senator from California from 2017 to 2021 she’s the first high ranking female official. She’s also the first African American and Asian American vice president. As a senator she has advocated for gun control, the DREAM Act and healthcare and taxation reforms. She has also worked towards the legalization of cannabis. Harris has been running her 2024 presidential campaign after President Biden’s withdrawal.She began her campaign with Biden’s endorsements.
