Simone Biles is making headlines with her recent gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Biles created history with the most wins of any gymnast. Earning her the title of “the most decorated gymnast in American history”. Biles led team USA to victory on 30th July.
Tokyo and Golden Girls
Biles withdrew from Tokyo after experiencing what gymnasts call “twisties”. She took the important decision of putting her mental health before anything.
Although her team did grabbed the silver medal, still all eyes were on Biles’ withdrawal. Paris became the venue for Biles’ amazing comeback with her team of “ golden girls”.
The team consists of Biles, Jordan Chiles, Sunisa Lee, Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera captured gold Tuesday in the women’s team event. Biles shared on her Instagram story the wonderment of the team they were. Biles seems proud of being part of the oldest gymnastics team in the US.
The “golden girl” in an interview stated how she felt the pressure of the game on her. Simone shares, now as mature and seasoned gymnasts Biles and team finds great excitement in just performing and giving their best.
Unending support of family
It goes without saying Biles has a lot of supporters and fans.The stadium housed her family members too. Her husband American football player Jonathan Owens was watching with bated breath. Her mom Nellie Biles is happy to see her daughter perform. Yet it’s her dad Ronald Biles with his binoculars that steals the show. Additionally Simone posted on Instagram, “ my dad and his binoculars is so freaking cute”.
